Don’t Talk About Politics

I listened to David McRaney talking about Sarah Stein Lubrano’s book Don’t Talk About Politics and subsequently him talking with Lubrano herself. From the blurb of her book: “Democracy is dying because we are clinging to a dangerous and outdated myth: talking about politics can change people’s minds. It doesn’t.” Perhaps it amounts to: don’t just talk, act. (Or: less talk, more action.)

Anyway, I’ve started reading her book. Surely there’s more to it than just that.
